There is a new game subtype in Warzone, Golden Plunder. But all is not golden with players trying to access the mode. Here’s what is going wrong and what we think may help. There are no official remedies at this point, but we have some things you can try.
Why does the Golden Plunder server issue happen?
As you probably know, Golden Plunder is a subtype of Plunder mode in Warzone. Unlike regular Plunder mode, Golden Plunder has more players and a larger cash pot. Since the addition of this game mode in July 2022, many gamers have been clamoring to enjoy it. The problem arises with the lack of stability of Golden Plunder because it is prone to server issues.
We don’t know exactly why Golden Plunder has so many issues with kicking players or timing out, but we have a couple of theories based on user reports. First, it seems possible that the new game mode is being overflooded with way more traffic than expected. Second, it’s possible something went wrong with the creation of Golden Plunder, resulting in it not being optimized for high traffic.
How to fix the Golden Plunder server issue
There have been no official solutions to fix the Golden Plunder server issue. We do, however, have a couple of methods you can try. Some players have found the problem remedied by using these methods:
- Restart your COD Warzone game. Make sure to completely close out and come back in. Reboot your PC or console. There’s no need for a hard restart if your system is not frozen, just choose the restart option on your device.
