Using Enchantments in God of War: Ragnarok

Other games have the option to socket gems into weapons and armor, like Diablo III. God of War: Ragnarok has joined that trend and added in Enchantments to its already complex combat system. They are gems that can be socketed into Kratos’s armor to give you all sorts of buffs such as reduced damage, extra activations of perks, or even higher stats. You can get 4 different types of Enchantments in God of War: Ragnarok. They are Common, Rare, Legendary, and Epic, and each is colored between green, blue, purple, and gold to tell the difference.

How to Find Enchantments

Enchantments can be found in a variety of ways, and in multiple different places. However, they are primarily found in chests, or as drops from enemies you’ve defeated. Though, you can also purchase them from Book or Sindri. Another cool way to collect some enchantments is to trade Hacksilver or Enchanted Dust with the graves in exchange for some new enchantments for Kratos.

How to Equip Enchantments in God of War: Ragnarok

Most armor will have Enchantment slots for you to socket your gems into. However, the rarity of the armor will depend on how many Enchantments you can socket. The most Enchantments you can socket on a piece of armor is 3, and that’s only for the more rare pieces of armor. Though, if you upgrade your armor, there is a chance that you can get additional Enchantment slots.

To equip an Enchantment, you’ll need to press your options button to pull up your menu, then navigate over to the “Armor” tab. Once you’re there, you’ll need to select the piece of armor that you wish to enchant and hit the square button to open up your Enchantment options. From here, you’ll be able to choose an Enchantment from your inventory to socket into the armor. From this menu, you can also remove socketed Enchantments if you want to.
