There are loads of Favor side quests in God of War: Ragnarok, including Trail of the Dead in the Jungle area of Vanaheim. For this Favor side quest, you’ll need to locate and defeat The Corpse Eater. It doesn’t seem like much of an issue until you realize that The Corpse Eater is actually a massive air dragon that’s been trailing you and the local wildlife and providing loads of harassment since you’ve arrived in the jungles of Vanaheim. You’ll be able to begin the Trail of the Dead side quest shortly after you’ve completed the Return of the River Favor side quest. How to Complete Trail of the Dead in God of War: Ragnarok
First, you’ll have to locate the dragon’s feeding grounds. Though, this can be done pretty easily. You’ll have to head out to the boat and hop in. Paddle to the Far East end of the river, where you will find a tunnel to your left. Head into the tunnel and get out of the boat at the small dock. From there, you’ll have to climb up the hill and squeeze through a gap at the top.
When you near The Corpse Eater’s feeding grounds, you’ll be met with two aggressive ogres that must be slain. If you don’t slay them before you attempt to enter the dragon’s feeding grounds, they will begin to throw boulders at you, preventing you from entering. Once you’ve killed both ogres, head back to the boat and out the way you came. Eventually, you’ll see a Nornir Chest and a Mystic Gateway on your left-hand side. Get out of the boat there and head past the Celestial Altar that is past the Mystic Gateway.
To the East, you will find some ruins. Climb them and turn right. Follow the rock ledge around the ruins and until you reach a platform where a corpse lies on the ground. To get past the vines, burn them with a chain of Sigils. Drop down that ledge, then use your Blades of Chaos in order to jump across to the ledge with the large black chest on it. From there, head to the West, then the North and climb up the wall in front of you.
