It has been a while since we all heard about the long-awaiting sequel to God of War. This time going by the title God of War: Ragnarok. Back in April 2018, Santa Monica Studios gave us one of the best games of the last decade. Launching for the PS4, this game was an instant hit. People finished the story and they were craving more. Now, apparently, we have some hints that we might get some new God of War: Ragnarok gameplay in the coming days.
God of War: Ragnarok Was Officially Announced in 2020
Back on September 16th, during the PlayStation 5 showcase, we got the first glimpse of this game. Initially, the game was scheduled for release in 2021. But, Santa Monica Studios preferred to delay God of War: Ragnarok until 2022. There is a lot of speculation surrounding the release date but most people are hoping for September of this year. During last year’s showcase, we got a bigger look at what the game will be about. We saw an older Atreus and some images of the new world we’ll be exploring. But that’s it, everything has been quiet. Until now. According to some journalists on social media, we’ll get some God of War: Ragnarok gameplay during the State of Play that should come soon.
The development cycle of God of War: Ragnarok has gotten a lot of changes since its conception. At first, it was announced as a PS5-only title. However, after some feedback, it was also announced that PS4 players would be able to play it. This is something great because it will allow everyone without a PS5 to play the game. It seems that the studio is trying to take God of War: Ragnarok and its universe to more people. We already know that there is a TV series in the works which has a lot of people excited. So now all we have to do is wait and see if we do get some new God of War: Ragnarok gameplay soon.
