It’s already been a few weeks since PlayStation owners got to try the new Santa Monica Studio game. God of War: Ragnarok launched with tremendous success and outstanding reviews. Yet, that is not all. Apparently, the current God of War: Ragnarok sales have also broken a new record for the Studio and for Sony. The new title has become the fastest-selling first-party game for the PlayStation. This is something that shows how great and well-crafted the latest God of War: Ragnarok game is. The official PlayStation account has congratulated Santa Monica Studio on this big milestone.
God of War: Ragnarok Sales reach 5.1 Million Copies sold since its launch
We all knew that the hype was enormous for the game. Even with the leaks that might’ve jeopardized players’ experience, this didn’t stop this behemoth of a game. God of War: Ragnarok sales now are beyond the 5 million figure. This has set a new record for Sony and for all the God of War franchise. For Santa Monica Studio, this means that people are loving their work. Case in point, the new God of War: Ragnarok game has already been appraised by many and received several nominations for The Game Awards.

God of War Ragnarok Update 2.03 Patch Notes
One can only hope that Santa Monica Studio keeps making games like this one. Which, we already know they are working on several projects. Although, we don’t know if there’ll be another God of War game in the future. But, we are still happy to see that this game achieved great success. Right now, the awards season is happening and while God of War: Ragnarok lost to Stray and Elden Ring in the Golden Joysticks, we’ll have to wait for the next month’s awards. God of War: Ragnarok was nominated for Game of the Year, amongst other categories. The Game Awards will take place on December 8, so make sure to cast your vote. And if you haven’t, you can play God of War: Ragnarok on PS4 and PS5.
