The new God of War is a great game and all, but it would be made much better with the addition of a dog. Scratch that. You could just replace Kratos with a dog and it would immediately skyrocket to the top of several “most wanted” lists. That’s apparently Sony’s line of thinking with the adorable and silly “Dog of War” trailer spoof.

The clip shows off what can happen when clueless advertising executives have no idea what they’re talking about, and in this case “Dog of War” is the product in question.

It’s a simple mistake, right? Well, not if you’re promoting one of the biggest games of 2018.

The result is a hilarious take on Kratos’s new adventure with a canine hero. Honestly, it looks like a legit game. Who said Kratos had to have a humanoid form? A four-legged demigod is way cooler, anyway.

“Living as a dog outside the shadow of the gods, Kratos must adapt to unfamiliar kennels, unexpected walkies and a second chance at being petted,” the cheeky ad proclaims.

“Together with his son Atreus, the pair will venture into the realm of Muttgard and fight to fulfill a deeply personal game of fetch.”

If you think the “Dog of War” game sounds good, you might want to get your hands on the PlayStation 4-exclusive God of War. It’s a lot more violent than the dog-based game might be, but it’s also, well, a real game. You can prep for it by checking out our guide to who’s who in the previous games here.
