I think it goes without saying that today isn’t the greatest day for fans of Cyberpunk 2077. Yet another delay has been announced, amidst controversy over crunch at the developer. It’s a storm of emotions right now, one indicative of just how long that game has been in development hell. Regardless, today’s news isn’t all bad. In fact, Cyberpunk fans may just have the game to hold them over this next month. Ghostrunner, the high-octane hack and slash title from One More Level Games, is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One! The game will release on Nintendo Switch next month following a delay. Ghostrunner follows the story of Jack, the last of the ghostrunners in charge of protecting the Architect. Following a coup that leaves the Architect for dead and Mara, the Keymaster, in a tyrant rule, you must make your way from the depths to stop her. With your powers in hand and a trusty katana, nothing can stand in the way of your goal for revenge. Slice and dice your way up the final city on Earth, and maybe have a little bit of fun along the way.
This is among some of my most anticipated games for the rest of this year, let alone this year. Ghostrunner’s demo is nothing short of fantastic, offering up a taste of what was to come from this exciting title. I replayed it numerous times, and finally, I’ll get the chance to play through it myself. Hopefully, you do as well, because I have a hunch that this will be a huge sleeper hit for this year.
