The current run of Ghost Rider from Benjamin Percy and Cory Smith is taking the Marvel hero on a whole new journey. In previews for the upcoming seventh issue, it looks like Rider Johnny Blaze is teaming up with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. That’s right, everyone’s favorite motorcyclist with a flaming skull is getting a badge.

What is Going On With Ghost Rider and the FBI?

Per CBR, the October solicitations for Marvel feature some new information for what is in store for Ghost Rider, AKA Johnny Blaze. The synopsis for Ghost Rider #7 hints at Mr. Blaze finding himself working with the government. Specifically, he works with the FBI after a surge in unusual paranormal activity across the country. Here is the official synopsis:

“There’s a new splinter group within the F.B.I. that is charged with quelling the rise in supernatural activity in the country. It is helmed by Agent Talia Warroad, who aims to enlist the dangerous power of the drifter named Johnny Blaze!”

How Did We Get Here?

This latest Ghost Rider series launched back in February and has really put Johnny Blaze through the wringer. After waking from an idyllic world, the Marvel hero has been taking on a tone of monstrous and supernatural threats. They include a ghostly semi-truck and a hellish circus manned by a force of undead. As the Marvel hero fights these entities, Agents Warroad and Horace Whilmer investigated these paranormal occurrences. Now, the two parties are about to come face-to-face.

Before Johnny joins the Bureau, next month’s fifth issue sees him partaking in a high-stakes motorcycle race. This race brings in some familiar faces across the Marvel Universe. Plus, next month Marvel releases the Ghost Rider: Vengeance Forever #1 one-shot. This issue features different incarnations of the Marvel hero from across the multiverse.

Ghost Rider #7 goes on sale on October 12!
