You’re going to have plenty of attachment and modifications available for your guns in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. These modifications are going to determine the unique traits of your weapon, giving your unique perks and stats to modify how effective it is in a particular form of combat. You can do all of this from the gunsmith tab in your inventory, without having to return to base or visiting a resting area.
How to Use the Gunsmith in Ghost Recon Breakpoint
You can access the gunsmith tab at any time from your main weapon’s menu. To access it, go to your inventory and hover over any of your weapons found on the left side. When you’re ready, hold the “G” button on the mouse and keyboard. Those who are using a controller are going to have a distinct button prompt pop up for your respective console. You’re going to go into a different menu where you’re going to see a larger, detailed screen of the gun’s stats.
On the left side, you have the five stats that determine the quality of the gun and what makes it suitable. These five stats are Accuracy, Handling, Range, Mobility, and Recoil. We have a guide to explain what those statistics mean and what they do to the gun. In the middle, you have a variety of upgrades available to you. These are going to open up when you gain useful resources throughout the world. Later on in the game, you’re going to gain access to more powerful weapons and gaining access to the higher quality upgrades. You’re going to need to purchase the different Mark Upgrades from the skill tree.
On the right side, you have a list of different attachments and modifications you make to the weapon. You can change these to directly influence the weapon’s stats, changing them to make the gun more suitable for how you want to use it. You may want to increase a sniper rifle’s overall firing range, relying on the passive perks for your character to make this range even further, dealing more damage to foes. You can change a gun’s Magazine, Muzzle, Rail, Scope, and Underbarrel. You find more blueprints in the world to unlock more attachments and guns to craft.
You can also change the weapon’s customization options by pressing “C,” on the mouse and keyboard. Those playing on a console or with a controller are going to need to use press the console’s respective button prompt. You can see the button on the top right side of the Gunsmith screen right next to the word “Paint.” When you click on paint, you can modify the weapon’s overall color, or you can alter individual pieces of the gun.
You can access the Gunsmith at any time and level. However, you’re going to get the most out of this from higher leveled guns because most of the lower level and starting game weapons are going to get thrown away. You’re going to find better replacements frequently, and consistently visiting this portion of the menu is going to become tiring.
