The word on the street is that mobile developers Zynga and Rollic’s new acquisition is the German dev NanoTribe, for a reportedly undisclosed fee – but going off other recent acquisitions, the figure could be quite generous. So, it looks like Zynga, the developers that brought us the phenomenon that was Farmville (well, to some it was), is again making considerable strides in the mobile gaming world.

German dev NanoTribe was founded in 2017 and liked to focus on “hypercasual” titles like Arrow Fest and Cashier 3D, simple and relaxing games that can be played anywhere and everywhere. These particular titles were published with the assistance of Rollic as well, which is where this blossoming partnership has stemmed from.

What does this mean for the German game dev NanoTribe?

It is believed that under the new acquisition, NanoTribe will look to fall under the Rollic umbrella (a subsidiary of Zynga) and will run under the firm’s other studios as well. And if you didn’t know already, it will be the first company outside of Turkey to be managed by Rollic, which is rather exciting for them.

Rollic co-founder Burak Vardal said this about the acquisition, “The start-up mentality and passion of the team behind NanoTribe is a great match for our path forward here at Rollic, and we are excited to welcome their titles and their talented staff to our growing family of innovative developers.”

Burak went on to say, “Our focus is on building an engaging global portfolio of games and finding great talent whose vision will match that of our own.”

It was only yesterday that Zynga released what looked to be their final full-year financials as an independent firm, which showed record revenues but more continued losses, which follow the trend of last year. It was only last month when it was reported that Take-Two wanted to acquire Zynga for $12.7 billion. So, there will be more on that, and Zynga and Rollic’s new acquisition as it develops.
