Maybe not the near-death experience anyone hopes for, but Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank working on “P.S I Love You” filming almost cost her her life. The “Law Abiding Citizen” actor may not be as meticulous as he appeared in the murder mystery. In fact, the man who played the brave king in “300” is very clumsy.

In a chit-chat with Seth Meyers, he told the host how he was “burning alive,” after an accident. While filming his recent cinema blockbuster “Plane,” alongside Mike Colter, he burned his face with acid. Before admitting to be naturally clumsy, he said:

Regarding accidents, Butler is a constant, he is either getting injured or serving doses of injuries. In 2021, while attempting his stunts on the set of “CopShop,” he wounded three people. “That all happened in one day, at which point, that’s when I started to think about retiring,” he admitted in an interview.

Recently, on the “The Drew Barrymore Show” fans got to hear that there was an accident as Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank filmed the 2007 romance film “P.S I Love You.”

Gerard Butler revealed that he injured Hilary Swank while the pair were working on a scene in the 2007 film where he danced “like an idiot” in boxer shorts and a pair of suspenders. (via @people) https://t.co/eO5hNo1eDk

Gerard Butler And Hilary Swank In “P.S I Love You” filming

For the 2007 romance where a widow was left with mostly memories and letters from her late husband to get through her days, Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank sure brought on their A-game.

The pair, who acted as onscreen lovers, brought their characters to life, making it easier for viewers to connect with them. Consequently, they won the Audience Award at the Irish Film and Television Awards.

But there was more to the “P.S I Love You” filming no one ever knew until the actor’s recent confession. He said he scarred his co-star’s face after a suspender clip hit her wrongly due to his silly dance. He recalled:

Swank was rushed to the hospital and filming stopped. Thankfully the accident did not claim her life. The actress went on racking roles, and of late, she is getting ready to welcome twins with her husband Philip Schneider.
