With The Game Awards happening very soon, host and producer Geoff Keighley really wants to get the gaming community involved. So he’s debuting an event that will enable them to play some of next year’s most promising titles for a limited time.
Known as The Game Festival, this “digital consumer event” will kick off on Steam at 10am on Thursday, Dec. 12. At that time, users can download a number of gameplay demos and enjoy them for 48 hours.
“Let’s face it: Not everyone can attend a physical trade show or consumer event,” Keighley said in a press statement. “The Game Festival is designed from the ground-up as an event without barriers.”
The demos include some big titles, including the multiplayer romp Moving Out; the indie skateboarding game Skatebird; and Nightdive Studios’ revival of the classic System Shock. The full list of available demos is below:

This is a good opportunity for gamers to get their hands on some of next year’s indie games, even if it is only for a little while.
