Sumeru is the new upcoming region in Genshin Impact that is scheduled to be released at the same time that Version 3.0 comes out. 2.8 is the current patch of the game, featuring the ongoing Summertime Odyssey Event and the limited-time questline within the Golden Apple Archipelago. However, the following update cycle will skip 2.9 and go straight into 3.0, introducing Sumeru and its brand-new storyline. Looking at what HoYoverse has teased so far, the new region appears to be a land of lush green rainforests and vast, sandy deserts. Accordingly, Genshin Impact fans are undoubtedly excited to know the release date for Sumeru.

Release Date For Sumeru In Genshin Impact

While there is no official information from HoYoverse regarding Sumeru and Version 3.0’s release date, many in the community strongly expect the update to be announced on August 22, 2022. Of course, there is a chance the dev team will delay the launch of Sumeru due to unforeseen issues; however, unless such a matter occurs, players can anticipate August 22.

Genshin Impact: Where to Find the Missing Crystalline Cores

Thanks to HoYoverse’s official announcements and endless leaks from overly zealous fans, Genshin Impact players can have a decent idea of what Sumeru will look like, what kind of challenges the environment offers, and what new characters will be released. Regarding the map of the region, most of the territory contains mountainous valleys, rivers, and rainforests. Sumeru will have four Statues of the Seven, along with more than forty Waypoints total. Similar to the Frostbearing Tree or Sacred Sakura, Genshin Impact‘s new region will feature a landmark known as the Vanarana Tree of Dreams. Here, Travelers can offer Dendro Sigils to be granted Resin, Fate, Midlander Billets, and other rewards.

As one would expect, Sumeru’s release in Genshin Impact also means the introduction of a host of new enemy types and mobs. Naturally, there will be similar ones to other zones, with the main difference being their Dendro element. However, fans can look forward to fighting brand-new engaging bosses and other unique creatures in battle. As for playable characters, Travelers will meet new companions native to Sumeru, including Collei, Dori, Tighnari, Al Haitham, Dehya, Nilou, and the Dendro goddess herself — Nahida. Suppose any of these characters seem interesting to fans. In that case, it is highly recommended that players earn and save up as many Primogems as possible from activities such as the Summertime Odyssey Event.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
