The ultimate challenge of Genshin Impact Version 3.1 is here. Each update brings a new change to the Spiral Abyss, featuring new enemies and challenges. This Spiral Abyss requires a mix of heavy single-target and AoE damage, so be sure to bring various characters to meet the DPS checks required on this floor. Some of these enemies are beefy, so you’ll need well-built characters if you wish to perfect this rotation.
How to clear Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact
Each Spiral Abyss update grants a unique buff to help you out in your battles. This update is the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon: Terminal Moon. This buff has the following effect:
“After the active character’s Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack deals DMG to an opponent, the character will gain a 10% corresponding Elemental or Physical DMG bonus of that attack for 4s. This effect can be triggered once every 1s. Max 6 stacks. It will be removed when the character leaves the field or deals a different type of Elemental or Physical DMG.”
Most of the time, each Spiral Abyss floor features a Leyline Disorder that potentially buffs your team. However, like most Floor 12s, you do not receive an additional buff. This means the only buff you’ll receive for Floor 12 is through the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon.
Which characters to consider to clear Floor 12 of the Spiral Abyss?
Geo characters are back in demand with this floor, as the Golden Wolflord is back and ready to terrorize your teams. Single-target damage is also important on this floor due to the sheer amount of bosses.
- Yoimiya and Hu Tao are strong single-target DPS who can definitely tear down the health bars of the bosses found on this floor.
- Childe / Kazuha / Xiangling / Bennett remains one of the most powerful comps in the game, and it is no different from this floor. This team has both strong single-target damage and AoE damage, covering all of your bases for this floor.
- Arataki Itto / Zhongli / Albedo / Gorou is back with the addition of the Golden Wolflord. The second half of this chamber is susceptible to Geo DMG overall, so a Geo-focused team will mow down the enemies on this floor with ease.
Floor 12: Chamber 1
In the first half, the Perpetual Mechanical Array boss is back. This devious DPS-check has terrorized players since its introduction in Version 2.4. This is a pure DPS-check boss, and there is a threshold of damage you’ll need to dish out if you want to 3-star this boss in time. Follow this guide to learn its attack patterns. We recommend using Yoimiya for this boss, as she can still hit the boss as it flies into the air, which often cuts DPS of your grounded teams. She also synergizes well with the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon.
In the second half, you will have to defeat two waves of enemies. One Eremide Desert Clearwater, one Eremite Sunfrost, and one Fatui Skirmisher – Geochanter Bracer. With Geo characters on your team, this floor should be no problem. There isn’t much positioning to be wary of here, these enemies won’t stray far from each other. After defeating this initial wave, you will have to defeat a singular Eremite Stone Enchanter, which is quite easy.
Floor 12: Chamber 2
The first half of Chamber 2 is a little trickier. The Primal Constructs are back, and if you do not deal enough damage in time, these guys will go invisible and cut through your time. Ideally, you can defeat at least two of them before one goes invisible so you don’t have to waste time revealing the constructs. Following this, an Eremite Galehunter will spawn, which is an easy enemy.
In the second half, you will have to defeat the almighty Golden Wolflord. This boss requires at least one Geo character. While having a full Geo-team is recommended, especially as the next floor also benefits Geo characters, you really only need one Ningguang on your team to deal with one phase. Arataki Itto is still highly recommended, as he can dish out tons of damage and even reach the Wolflord as it flies around in the sky.

Floor 12: Chamber 3
In the first half, you will have to face the Jadeplume Terrorshroom. This is a boss rush Spiral Abyss, but if you brought a single-target DMG character like Yoimiya or Hu Tao, this floor shouldn’t be a problem. The basic idea behind this boss is to balance its Fury meter. If it takes Electro DMG, its Fury meter will go up. If it takes Pyro DMG, its Fury meter will go down. The second half features waves of Rockfond Rifthounds and Rockfond Rifthound Whelps. These hounds take more Geo DMG, which is another reason why bringing a Geo team is highly recommended for this chamber. If you do not have a Geo team, it’s recommended to bring a team with strong AoE damage and grouping for the Rifthound Whelps, such as Childe, Kazuha, Xiangling and Bennett.
After defeating the hounds, you will have finally cleared the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact Version 3.3. Take the Primogems and prepare for the next cycle, which will undoubtedly pose a new challenge for you and your characters…
