How to play the Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens: Greenery Chapter event in Genshin Impact
Once you’ve met all the prerequisites or begun the event using the Quick Start function, you’ll get the Event Quest called Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens: Greenery Chapter. Initiate it to be prompted to meet Asagiri in Inazuma City. Speak with her to begin playing through the event activities. Open the event menu and click Check Photo Notes to get an overview of all the photography prompts Asagiri prepared for you. Two will release every day for the first week of the event, with 14 prompts in total.
Click on one of the prompts, then click on Check Photo-Taking Location at the bottom right of the screen. Then click Go to Take Photos to make a Kamera icon appear in the World Map, indicating the photography location.
Adjusting Kamera settings
Head to the location marked by the Kamera icon to find a glowing spot. Equip your Kamera Gadget and interact with the glowing spot to begin taking pictures. There are three preset angles that you can select from for your convenience. But you can adjust the position, zoom, and Kamera angle as long as the photo-taking point(s) are visible. Photo-taking points are transparent circles in the event UI—an example is circled in the image above. Once you’re happy with the angle, click Enter on PC or use the photo-taking button to confirm the Kamera settings.
Photo-Taking Mode
After confirming the Kamera settings, you’ll enter the Photo-Taking Mode. Here, you must follow the rest of the photography prompts you can reference on the lefthand corner. In the example above, the prompt was to include a character and use an Anemo Elemental Skill. So we switched to Kazuha, used his Elemental Skill, and immediately snapped a photo with the Kamera Gadget while the Skill was still active. Likewise, other prompts will ask you to have the subject perform other actions, such as sprinting or doing their idle animations—you must snap the photo while these actions are still active.
Once the photo has been taken, you can keep taking photos if you missed some prompts, want to redo the shot, or leave when you’re satisfied. Don’t forget to claim rewards from the photo prompts section of the event menu.
