Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens is Genshin Impact’s latest photography event that starts in Inazuma, where a light novel illustrator named Asagiri is experiencing a horrible case of art block.

The event runs from April 1, 2022, to April 11, 2022, and is open to all players Adventure Rank 30 and above who have completed the Ritou Escape Plan section of the Inazuma Archon Quest Chapter II: Act I - The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia. Moreover, you need to own the Kamera Gadget to participate in this event.

How to Play the Event

Once you meet all the requirements, you’ll automatically receive the Event Quest called Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens, which will take you to Asagiri in Inazuma City. She’ll ask you to take 14 photos across Teyvat and will provide prompts for you to follow. The first two unlocked on the first day of the event, while the rest will gradually unlock over the next five days.

Click Check Photo Notes in the event menu to view the prompts. A Kamera icon will also appear in the World Map and the mini-map, along with a glowing spot to indicate the exact location to take the photos.

How to Take Photos

Interact with the glowing spot to start taking photos. A checklist will appear on the left side of the screen. You need to achieve them all before snapping a shot with the Kamera.

Keep in mind that you must use the Kamera Gadget for this event, as the Photo-Taking Points won’t show up through the camera from the settings menu, and you need to use skills for some of the photos! After snapping the photos, you can claim rewards from the Photo Notes in the event menu.

What are Photo-Taking Points?

The photography notes include a prompt about including Photo-Taking Points. These are circles that appear in the landscape based on how much of the scenery is crammed into the shot. You need to zoom out for more Photo-Taking Points to show up on the screen.
