The open-world action RPG mobile game Genshin Impact has ranked as the top spot of earnings for mobile games. Beating out PUBG, miHoYo’s game has earned about $2 billion USD in mobile store transactions. All of these earnings are from this year only.

Many of Genshin Impact’s players and customers are based in China, with over a quarter of the game’s first-year earnings coming from the Chinese player market on iOS devices. However, this number could be higher since most revenue trackers don’t account for third-party Android stores. Japan was the second-highest player market, making up 23.7% of the earnings. The U.S. follows close behind, making up 21%.

These rankings follow the news that the developers for Genshin Impact are revealing a new game. With this new game, they are taking sign-ups for beta players this starting this week. Those who sign up to play the beta also get the chance to choose between playing it on iOS or on PC.

So far there are no other details about the upcoming game, other than it’s named Honkai: Star Rail. There is also a trailer release for the upcoming game, which shows new characters, settings, and storylines. For more upcoming news about the game, be sure to follow the official Twitter account for Honkai: Star Rail.

There is also another plan for a Genshin Impact update later this year. Some of the aspects of the update have already been leaked, but it looks like that’s not the only thing being included.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play mobile game with in-game transactions, which is the way they make these earnings. The game is also available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
