Dragonspine is one of the most interesting areas in Mondstadt. The area has a unique weather effect not present in any other part of the game, with the exception of a later boss fight. To survive Dragonspine, you need to keep your sheer cold meter down or face a quickly depleting health bar.

How to survive sheer cold on Dragonspine

The second you set foot in the Dragonspine area, a bar will pop-up above your health to indicate that you are slowly freezing to death. Once this meter is filled, you will start taking constant damage. The only way to bring the meter back down is by finding heat sources.

The following items will bring down your sheer cold meter:

  • Lit Torches and campfiresWaypointsFire Seelie, both free-roaming and in podiumsRuin Braizers

All of these items are spread out pretty generously throughout Dragonspine. You should have a pyro character in your party though to light unlit torches and campfires.

Items for sheer cold managment

There are two items that can be created using cooking and crafting to bring down sheer cold:

  • Warming Bottle: Can completely reset your sheer cold meter in a matter of seconds.Ghoulash: Sheer cold is accumilated 0.4% slower.

The warming bottle is unlocked when you get the Frostbearing Tree to level four. Goulash will become available to cook once you have completed the quest, Ah, Fresh Meat.
