The Medaka is one of numerous fish that you can find and catch in Genshin Impact. Medaka is one of the most common fish you can find due to its spawning in numerous fishing locations. How to Find (& Catch) Medaka Fish in Genshin Impact
Once you finish the “Exploding Population” quest and get the Serenitea Pot, you will unlock fishing. You will need to make specific bait that will attract Medaka. Medaka is caught using Fruit Paste Bait. You can craft ten Fruit Paste Bait with one Sunsettia and one Wheat. You may need to buy the bait recipe from the Mondstadt Fishing Association.
Medaka spawns during any time of day. You do not have to wait until nighttime. However, each fishing location will take three days to replenish its fish, so you may need to move spots periodically. Thankfully, Medaka has multiple spawn locations that are close to each other.
The regular Medaka Fish can be found in the following locations:
- Cider Lake, south of Mondstadt and north of Springvale
- Stormbearer Mountains
- Both locations in Stormterror’s Lair
- Windrise
- Dragonspine
- Mt. Aocang in Liyue
While there are several other fishing spots that Medaka spawns at, these are the primary locations that you will have the best luck. There are also spots in Liyue and Inazuma that may provide you additional chances to catch more if you need to.
Several other types of Medaka spawn in different locations. For example, Sweet-Flower Medaka can spawn in Qingce Village and Liyue Harbor, but you likely will not find regular Medaka here.
