Yun Jin arrived at the start of Genshin Impact 2.4, adding a 4-Star Geo Polearm user to the game’s already impressive roster. But, as the number of Geo characters rises, especially with the recent additions of Itto and Gorou, how does she stack up?
Yun Jin is a Support character, buffing other characters’ Normal attacks while also providing a bit of Geo damage on her own. Her damage buff scales off her Defense and increases with her Breaking Conventions Passive Talent unlocked at Ascension 4. For those lucky enough to pull Yun Jin multiple times, her buffs increase even more with Constellations 2, 3, and 6.
Currently, there are 3 Main DPS Geo characters, 2 Sub-DPS characters, and 3 Supports. Out of the Support characters, Yun Jin falls right in the middle between Zhongli and Gorou. Pairing well with almost all the Geo characters, she also supports characters with different elements, such as Yoimiya, Kazuha, and Razor.
As with many things in Genshin Impact, comparing characters of a similar element can be challenging because of how varied their uses are in different situations. Nevertheless, Yun Jin is a great Support, just as Zhongli and Gorou are, and an excellent addition to many other party compositions.
