Recently, a plethora of new quests to complete, areas to explore, and characters to meet were added to the massive world of Genshin Impact with the 2.0 update. One new Genshin Impact NPC, in particular, is Chouji, a solitary boy who is part of the World Quest, “Gazing Three Thousand Miles Away.” There’s a total of 12 steps to accomplish this quest; however, many players have struggled completing the step, “Obtain the treasure mentioned by Chouji.” This guide will clarify any confusion about where this treasure is and hopefully provides a helpful solution for those running into any outside factors.

How to Successfully Obtain the Treasure Mentioned by Chouji

Chouji promises the player “a chest full of treasure” after you mine 12 chunks of Crystal Marrow for him. The location of this treasure is nearby the Jakotsu Mine, south of Yashiori Island. Close to the eastern cliffside, there is a small compass-like statue next to a single tree. The treasure can be found in the bushes behind that tree.

As it turns out, Chouji’s so-called treasure is nothing but a Carrot and one Sunsettia fruit. Yet, if you were able to find these two items, you’ll know you completed this part (“Obtain the treasure mentioned by Chouji”) of this World Quest in Genshin Impact.

Solutions to the Two Bugs in this Genshin Impact Quest

Unfortunately, some Genshin Impact users have experienced glitches when trying to complete this quest. First, after reaching the correct spot, the “investigate” action may not be available for players. In other words, the treasure can become impossible to interact with, which causes the quest’s progress to halt entirely. Manually restarting the game doesn’t seem to resolve the issue. The best advice is to either wait for the daily reset or have faith that miHoYo will soon fix the quest’s bug.

Another problem users have experienced is running into a glitch after collecting Chouji’s treasure and confronting him about it. After the dialogue ends, players are told to “rest until 11:00 – 14:00 the next day and talk to Chouji.” Following players’ choice to either skip time or return later to Chouji, the quest has been known to restart on its own, forcing users to gather 12 chunks of Crystal Marrow again. Sadly, the only solution is the same as before — wait for the daily reset and cross your fingers that miHoYo will address this matter.

If you’re one of the fortunate Genshin Impact players who completed “Gazing Three Thousand Miles Away” without issue, luck is definitely on your side. On the other hand, if you have yet to meet Chouji or begin his quest, it might be best to wait until miHoYo announces a hotfix or patch that resolves these problems.
