A new Genshin Impact leak revealed interesting information about Al Haitham, a new character model likely based on the Arab scientist Hasan Ibn al-Haytham. The game creators usually use the names and personalities of famous people to enrich the gaming experience. It now seems they have gone for the 9th century AD figure. With the help of various leaks, it is clear that Al Haitham will likely play an important role in the Sumeru storyline. Admittedly, there isn’t much info around Al Haitham because the leaks are far and in between. That said, the gaming community has been able to nail down a few interesting facts. To begin, Al Haitham is expected to be a 5-Star character who wields the Dendro element. He is also said to be an expy (exported character) from Honkai Impact called Su. Su is a playable character from Honkai Impact with eerily similarities with Al Haitham’s leaked model. Fans have reason to believe this is the case. After all, a similar connection exists between Yae Miko of Genshin Impact and Yae Sakaru of Honkai Impact.
Another leak surrounding Haitham’s character implies he’ll make a minor appearance in Genshin Impact update 2.8. Reportedly, players will also get to meet him early on in Sumeru. While his exact role is still unclear, speculation is rife that he will be a prominent figure in the region. The Speculations also have it that Al Haitham and Shogli know each other.
