The release date and cover art for the upcoming Gears of War 4 was recently revealed by developer The Coalition, but it appears that there is more big news for the game that is just around the corner. A strange countdown has appeared on the game’s website that teases at an announcement coming soon.
Further inspection of the website reveals the words “The Nightmare Reborn” along with a couple of brief videos that can be viewed by clicking here and here. Current speculation is that it will be a trailer for the upcoming beta, but who knows at this point. The countdown will come to an end on April 11th.
The Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta will be accessible to those who purchased Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on April 18th, with everyone else being able to join in on the fun on April 25th.
As for when the main game releases, Gears of War 4 will launch exclusively for the Xbox One on October 11th.
