Gaming Personality John Totalbiscuit Bain Has Died At Age 33

Gaming personality John “TotalBiscuit” Bain has passed away.

Bain’s wife, Genna, announced his death on Twitter on May 24. He was 33 years old. Bain was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and had been undergoing treatment for the disease since. He posted on Reddit in April that he didn’t have much time left, and that his body had become “resistant to all forms” of traditional chemotherapy.

“Rest in peace, my dearest love,” Genna wrote on Twitter today. “John ‘TotalBiscuit’ Bain, July 8, 1984 to May 24, 2018.”

Bain’s cancer entered remission in 2015, only to return and spread to his liver, and later, to his spine. Both were considered inoperable by doctors. Bain continued to create YouTube and Twitch content after he exited video game criticism in April.

“I’m coming to terms with the fact that I don’t have long left and right now, at any rate, there is literally nothing I can do about it other than try to manage the pain as best as possible and stay hydrated as possible to ease the pressure on the liver,” Bain wrote in April.

In the April post, Bain expressed interest in Genna taking over his YouTube and Twitch channels.

“When I leave this world I want to leave something my family can use to help them earn,” Bain said. “Not only would I be OK with Genna taking over my channels and assets once I’m gone, I’d be delighted if she did.”
