It’s Memorial Day weekend and that means discounts and sales. And for gamers like us it means awesome deals on the games we’ve been saving up to add to our collections! GameStop is leading the charge this holiday weekend with several different promotions on games, tech, and accessories. The most notable of the bunch being the store’s B2G1 on new and used games

B2G1 deals aren’t a foreign concept for regular GameStop customers. The company often offers similar promotions for used games at designated price points. This time, however, new games are feeling the love, and players are excited.

Games for each system

GameStop’s promotion covers PS4, Xbox One, and Switch titles. Game from last-gen are also in the mix, though, retro games have been excluded. New copies of first-party Nintendo games are not included either. Sorry Nintendo fans, but you can still use the deal on used copies of classics like Breath of the Wild, Astral Chain, and Octopath Traveler.

Do your homework before opening your wallet at GameStop

Before running to the sale blind, make sure to take note of the price points for each game you’re interested in scooping up. Some titles are priced higher than they can be regularly found. For instance, GameStop has listed The Witcher 3 on Xbox and PS4 at $40 even though the game can often be found for around $20.

While some games may not make sense at non-discounted rates, plenty of 2020 games do catch the eye. The likes of Nioh 2 and Doom Eternal jump off the screen for me. Not to mention Final Fantasy VII Remake and Resident Evil 3. Each listed at $60, but grabbing three brand new titles for the price of two is still pretty sweet.

Time is running out

The Memorial Day weekend sale at GameStop might not be the most impressive deal ever, but it’s intriguing enough to warrant a browse. GameStop’s library for the sale can be found at its website and the deal will apply for both delivery and curbside pick up at physical retailers. The B2G1 sale ends Monday.
