The Nintendo 2DS released last year around the launch of Pokemon X and Y as a cheaper alternative to the Nintendo 3DS, while moving away from the clamshell design. The device wasn’t meant to replace the 3DS or 3DS XL in any way, but just be another good option, especially for kids that may want one. Now, GameStop has discounted the price of the handheld to under $100 for the entire next month.
Starting now, you can pick up a brand new Nintendo 2DS at GameStop for only $99.99. This temporary price reduction is $30 less than the original price tag of $129.99, which means it received a nearly 25% off price drop. The sale will run through September 30, so if you don’t want to make a decision quite yet, you have a little time. The pre-owned versions of the handheld that typically cost $119.99 are also reduced by $30 and are going for $89.99 currently.
This temporary price drop comes at an absolutely perfect time as Super Smash Bros. 3DS releases on October 3, just a few days after the sale ends, so you can pick this up in preparation if you do not own a 3DS already. Just make sure not to miss out on this fantastic deal before it ends on September 30!
