This past Monday, July 1, video game and Pop Figure retailer GameStop announced a new charity effort in Partnership with the Call of Duty Endowment. The new program, called ‘Give Back to the Brave’, allows GameStop customers to help veterans returning to civilian life find jobs.

For the entire month of July GameStop customers will have the option to support “Give Back to the Brave’ in three ways:

  • Make a donation of $1 or more at checkout.
  • Donate PowerUp rewards points.
  • Donate up to 100% of the trade in value of games, hardware, and accessories

Customers who donate at the register will also receive triple PowerUp rewards points on the donation amount so technically someone could make a big donation get triple points back then turn around and donate the points.

Frank Hamlin, executive vice president, and Chief Customer Officer for GameStop had this to say about the program:

Donations to ‘Give Back to the Brave’ go to funding job placement programs for returning veterans and efforts to raise awareness for the benefits of veterans in the workplace. According to the press release since 2012, the Call of Duty Endowment has helped place almost 8,000 veterans in new jobs. According to  Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director for the Call of Duty Endowment, the program plans to place 100,000 vets by 2024.

‘Give Back to the Brave’ runs July 1 to July 31 so remember to ask about it on your next GameStop visit
