Publisher Modus Games is taking the fighting game genre to a new level with God of Rock. Initially showcased at this year’s Gamescon, God of Rock instills new rhythm-based tactics mixed with familiar fighting action. Fans of the genre can view the announcement trailer right now to see what the fresh IP has in store for players. The new title will arrive this Winter 2022 season for all major platforms.

Battle to the Beat with God of Rock

In God of Rock, it’s about fighting along to the beat. The game assumes the usual approach to one-on-one fights but with the inclusion of rhythm-based mechanics. Button prompts will race across the scene for both fighters, igniting the vibrant design of the environments and characters. Both characters will try and knock each other out while utilizing standard and special moves. But as the battle proceeds and health bars deteriorate, the music will start to speed up – try not to lose your timing out there.

The trailer is a decent tease of what’s to come. You get to witness many different fighters and moves being performed across cosmic stages, as well as the expected music to boot. Be sure to check out the official Announcement Trailer for God of Rock, which we’ve attached here. Fair warning: some photosensitive viewers might struggle with the rapid light patterns, so please proceed carefully if you choose to watch it.

The game features a starting Training Mode to help get players into the groove of the controls. Then, we can proceed onto the Story Mode to battle against a wide range of opponents. In addition to single-player fights, players can also jump into local and online multiplayer to fight against their friends.

God of Rock has a release window of Winter 2022. It’s set to arrive for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Of course, you can add the title to your wishlist now. Aside from God of Rock, which other titles that were revealed at Gamescon are you looking forward to?
