Gamescom is back this year, and it’s already looking like Gamescom 2022 will be the next significant event in the gaming calendar. Gamescom 2022, which begins next week, is a hybrid event spread over five days and combines both online and physical announcements. The physical part of the event will take place in Cologne, Germany, and will stream online. Here is everything you need to know about Gamescom 2022.

Which Developers Will Be at Gamescom 2022?

The new Gamescom event will take place from August 23 to 28 in Cologne, Germany. Also, it will be available online globally. Gamescom 2022 will start with Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live. The Gamescom 2021’s ONL released several trailers that contained information about 30 games. These announcements featured information about the Ninja Turtles video game, the release dates for Jett: The Far Shore and Horizon Forbidden West, and a sneak peek at Death Stranding: Director’s Cut.

Over 500 publishers will be at Gamescom, including 2K, 505 Games, AMD, Microsoft, Ubisoft, SEGA, Tencent, and Embracer Group. However, it should be noted that Sony and Nintendo won’t be attending Gamescom 2022. The schedule and dates of Gamescom are:

  • August 25: Xbox Booth Live
  • August 26: Awesome Indies
  • August 27: Award Show
  • August 28: Cosplay Competition

“We’re excited to confirm that Xbox will be back on the show floor at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Fans in Europe and around the world can expect updates on some announced games coming to Xbox in the Gamescom 2022,” Microsoft said in a press release.

Another well-known company, Ubisoft, has confirmed that it will attend Gamescom, but it hasn’t yet specified what it expects to showcase. It’s worth noting that Ubisoft has agreed to hold a specific Ubisoft Forward presentation in September.

Other big names have confirmed they will attend Gamescom 2022, including Warner Bros., Sega, 505 Games, Koch Media, 2K Games, and Bandai Namco.
