A recent trailer for an upcoming full-motion video game (FMV) entitled Gamer Girl has received significant backlash, and it appears that Sony decided to take down the video from YouTube.
Equipped with a branching storyline, your choices as moderator and Abi’s actions in the real world will have consequences. Beware in the chat for online friends could be lurking in the shadows.
With a teaser that shows the live-action gameplay with Abi (aka Abicake99) interacting with her moderator and chat in the stream, we’re shown brief glimpses into what the general story will be. There seems to be some drama surrounding her streaming life, as the outrun music kicks up right after Abi walks into a dark and sketchy area.

Following the negative reception and the pulling of the trailer, Wales Interactive posted a multi-tweet in response and in defense of the game’s nature and purpose. The tweet thread concludes with: “Online abuse is real and is still happening every day — Gamer Girl seeks to raise awareness of this issue.”

The game is scheduled for a September release of this year for all major platforms and PC, despite the official announcements of Gamer Girl now being absent. It is unclear if the FMV title will be releasing or not until further information is provided by the developers.
