Some bad news for people living in Australia and New Zealand, you can no longer purchase the Gamecube Adapter for the Wii U console.
The Nintendo Australia and New Zealand Twitter page announced:
“Due to overwhelming demand, the GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U is no longer available to purchase from Nintendo Customer Service.”
Much like everywhere else in the world, the bundle for the Gamecube Adapter that came with Super Smash Bro. on Wii U were launched with low supply. Only those that pre-ordered the bundle were able to get one without much trouble.
In Australia and New Zealand, people previously were able to buy the Gamecube Adapter for Wii U from Nintendo Customer Service. It was priced for $29.99.
Now that the Gamecube Adapter for Wii U is no longer available on Nintendo Customer Service, this means Australians and New Zealanders have will have a hard time buying it. Not many (if any) retailers have it in stock.
EB Games Canada announced a few days ago that Nintendo is no longer making the Gamecube Adapter for Wii U for the time being.
It looks like the only option Super Smash Bros. owners have right now is buy the Gamecube Adapter online. This is a bit risky considering the huge demand for them will make the price for it rise well above the normal retail price…
