Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, have struck an exclusivity deal with Netflix.

This news comes from Variety, who had the opportunity to speak to Netflix and confirm the news directly.

In a statement from the streaming service’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos, he said:

How Do They Feel About this Netflix Deal?

The creative duo also released a joint statement on the matter:

The statement suggests that they may be in the process of adapting a new book or even an 80’s style movie. Only time will tell as they develop their work for Netflix.

Alongside this, Benioff and Weiss are developing a new Star Wars film for a 2022 release. This is the first of several films in the franchise the pair have signed up to write and produce for Lucasfilm.
