Kicking off today will be the voting period of the Game Development World Championship(GDWC) event, allowing fans, players, and all others in the gaming industry a chance to look at the final product from these developers. Voting closes on the 31st of January, with the announcement of the winners soon after.
Showcasing your work at the GDWC
The event is an annual competition for game developers of all backgrounds and skill levels to bring their best work. Each year, winners of the Pro PC Game, Pro Console Game, Hobby Game, and Mobile Game of the Year fly out to Finland to meet with game studios as a prize.
The Game Development World Championship has offered game developers of various backgrounds a chance to display their work in front of a large audience allowing fans to get their voting in. The event has been ongoing since 2016, has been a free and easy method to connect new developers with game companies and players.
With this ease of acceptance, in the future, all developers need to go to their website at thegdwc.com. Once there, it’s as easy as finding the enroll now button and clicking. The final step would be adding a few screenshots, a description, a video, and of course, a playable build.
Bringing JOOY to the GCDW
Lastly, fans will finally get introduced to the new mascot for the Game Development World Championship. The end of November closed out the Mascot Design Competition, which saw JOOY as the winner. So this year, GDWC will feature JOOY and into the future as they continue giving developers a platform.
The developers and their games after the GDWC event are going on to enjoy large player bases and audience acclaim. Such games like RiftBreaker on the PC took 2nd place last year or M.A.S.S Builder in 2019, giving developers a more significant reach for people to experience their work.
