BioShock creator Ken Levine has (finally) officially announced his next video game in the Game Awards: Judas.

Eight years after the release of Bioshock Infinite, the designer and his team at Ghost Story Games didn’t have something to show for it due to the almost experimental development process and Levine’s ambition, which -according to testimonials- aims for a AAA game with an indie-scale team.

Several studio members fell on the way in a soldier-like manner. Many of the studio’s founders left Levine, saying that working with him was difficult. In addition, his constant changes, which forced them to scrap weeks or months of work because of the leader’s whims, affected the employees’ morale.

The Game Awards has finally announced Judas. It sure did cause uproar in the event’s crowd (and through the screen).

Ken Levin promises that “…Judas… we’ve created an entirely new world and set of characters while exploring different approaches to single-player, narrative first-person shooters.”

Judas is a first-person narrative shooter taking place in a sci-fi world. The developer is, of course, the new Ghost Story Games studio; the style, both playable and visual, is very reminiscent of the famous 2K Games franchise (Cloud Chamber studio is currently developing the fourth installment).

Everything about Judas, according to The Game Awards

According to the official description from the Game Awards, “Judas is a single-player first-person narrative shooter bys, a studio led by Ken Levine, director of System Shock 2, BioShock, and BioShock Infinite.”

“A plan to escape from a disintegrating ship. You are Judas, mysterious and with a troubled past, and your only hope of survival is by making or breaking alliances with your worst enemies. Will you manage to fix what you broke…or will you have to let it end in ashes?”

Valve will Give Away Steam Decks on The Game Awards

It definitely looks promising. We can’t wait to have more info about it to share with you. Stay tuned!

Judas still needs a release date but is confirmed to have PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions.
