As G4TV meets its fate, its streaming branches have begun to snap off from the network‘s tree. Following the sudden shutdown, the remaining sources of entertainment for the network were bound to go quiet. This mainly concerns the Pluto TV plug, where the network was branded as G4 Select for a channel. However, that channel no longer exists, gone forever from the free streaming service that helped reintroduce G4 to the masses.
G4 Continues to Bite the Dust with the Loss of Pluto TV Channel
The incredibly rapid outbreak of unfortunate G4 news might have been prophesized by players and critics alike. For a while, overall viewership began to decline for one reason or another. Yet, it still comes as a shocker, especially since Comcast Spectacor attempted to revive the network after its initial closure in 2014. Back when the initial relaunch was underway, the network would spread its wings to Twitch, YouTube TV, Pluto TV, and a couple of other services.
Now, the network says goodbye to Pluto TV, where it showcased selected content from the network’s broadcasting. It would play the same shows as the regular G4 channel, though the rotation wasn’t always aligned altogether. It was merely another free way to enjoy XPlay, Attack of the Show, Name Your Price, and all the other programs if you weren’t in the loop to join a Twitch stream. Sadly, as aforementioned, the channel no longer exists, leaving it up to archived footage elsewhere to satisfy that G4 craving.
What is Pluto TV?
Pluto TV is a free video streaming service that features a plentiful of different and unique channels. It’s owned by Paramount Streaming, allowing a variety of providers to license their movies, TV shows, and music directly with the support of ads. The service includes channels for nearly anything regarding visual entertainment. Films of all genres, TV shows old and new, and current sporting events are all included. There’s even a batch of gaming channels for fellow nerds searching for extra content. G4 Select was amongst this particular set of streaming channels.
As of this writing, the G4TV YouTube channel is still up, along with any previously uploaded content. Will the channel be taken down? We’re certainly unsure. Regardless, there’s still time to catch up on any content you might’ve missed before the channel potentially disappears from YouTube.
