Ed O’Neill will play Donald Sterling for the FX limited drama series The Sterling Affairs. It has a six-episode order and will also star Jacki Weaver and Laurence Fishburne. Gina Welch wrote the teleplay for the series The Sterling Affairs. The script is adapted from the podcast ESPN 30 for 30, telling on the subject. Ramona Shelburne is the host of the podcast and reported the story. The series follows Doc Rivers (Laurence Fishburne) and the LA Clippers on their journey to the championship. The series will also show the downfall of the team’s owner. Sterling’s (Ed O’Neill) racist behavior is exposed to the world and all his other dirty laundry. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson from Color Force will produce the FX limited drama series. Welch, Jacobson, Simpson, and Shelburne are executive producers for the project.

He received four Screen Actors Guild Awards and three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his role in Modern Family. His big-screen credits include Little Giants, Wayne’s World, and Wreck-It Ralph. His most recent film credit was the independent feature film The Last Shift opposite Richard Jenkins. Now he joins the main cast of the series The Sterling Affairs. The FX limited drama series will show O’Neill’s character in an unflattering light. O’Neill will be able to show that he can play more than the quirky family man. He joins television and film veteran Laurence Fishburne as two different sides to a murky story.
