Anime don’t stop. It can’t stop. Funimation recently announced that their app will be available for the Xbox Series X/S when it launches on November 10. Yes, we’re that close. According to Funimation, customers will be able to let go of their old consoles and be reassured that all their favorite anime shows will be ready to stream on the new consoles. This will hopefully create a seamless transition into the next generation.

Those who have signed up for Funimation’s premium services will also be able to use the app on the new console along with four additional devices. The app features simulcasts and access to both dubbed and subbed content for certain shows. This will be perfect for My Hero Academia fans as the fifth season gets closer and closer. Recently, Funimation has also announced the next batch of dubbed episodes for One Piece. These will be ready to stream come November 17.

Apps and Games On Launch

As for the Xbox Series X/S, the launch line-up includes titles such as Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Multiple sources, such as Windows Central and Lifehacker, suggest that the apps available on the Xbox One will be available on the Xbox Series X/S. It is worth noting that on the Xbox One apps list, Apple TV is not listed. (Update: On November 2, Microsoft has confirmed Apple TV will be available on the Xbox Series X/S)

Funimation on Other Platforms

Earlier in October, Funimation also announced that the app will be available on the PlayStation 5 when it launches on November 12. It will accompany games such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the remake of Demon’s Souls and of course Bugsnax. Phil Rosenberg, via a PlayStation blog, has confirmed that mainstream media apps will be on the PlayStation 5. This includes Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix and Twitch.
