The Platinum End Anime’s Rise to Success

The anime premiered on October 7 on TBS. The anime will have an uninterrupted 24 episodes until March 2022. It is also listed to cover the entire story of the manga. Currently, the story is licensed by Viz Media. The company then goes on to describe the story as:

Unlike the classic anime Death Note in 2006, Platinum End starts with the biblical references in episode 1. Along with these biblical references, the Platinum End anime also references Death Note many times. It should make a good home with Funimation Dubs.

Obata (the creator of Death Note), launched the Platinum End manga in Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine. As it first started in November 2015, the manga ended recently in January. Viz Media has been publishing the manga simultaneously in English since its launch. The company also publishes the manga title in print.

A while ago, Crunchyroll also announced that they will be streaming the Platinum End anime’s English dub as it weekly comes out in Japan.
