The Fuller House cast and creator reunite to sing a sweet song about golden retrievers, in what’s not only a fun treat for fans but also for a good cause.
Months after Fuller House came to an end on Netflix, the main cast and creator Jeff Franklin came together virtually to sing a song that’s as light-hearted a get-together of the fan-favorite cast as it was a genuine call to action to support local pet adoption and rescue organizations. The song, titled “Gotta Love a Golden” written by Franklin in honor of his golden retrievers Woody and Lola.
Bringing his song to life, Fuller House stars Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber joined Franklin as he signs off the video asking fans to donate to PetSmart Charities.
Beginning in 1987, the sitcom Full House revolved around widower Danny Tanner, played by Bob Saget, who recruits his brother-in-law (John Stamos) and best friend (Dave Coulier) to help raise his three daughters. The show which helped launch the careers of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who both played the youngest Tanner daughter, Michelle, was a hit among audiences that ran for eight seasons.
In 2016, following the trend of reboots taking over Hollywood, Fuller House premiered on Netflix with the story shifting to oldest daughter DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) who finds herself in need of reinforcement following the death of her husband. The reboot provided the opportunity to bring back nearly every member of the original cast aside from the Olsen twins. Much like Full House, the show was a success among audiences and ran for five seasons on Netflix, with the last season wrapping up this June.
While this isn’t the first time the cast has reunited for a good cause, this particular cause is especially poignant considering the Tanner family’s connection with golden retrievers. The family had a golden retriever of their own named Comet in Full House, with Comet’s descendants appearing in the reboot.
