Frostpunk isn’t done just releasing an Endless mode though. Within this new game type brings two ways to play. The first is Endurance, the second being Serenity. Endurance is made for those who want to face the hardest challenge they’ve ever faced in the cold winter, while Serenity gives lots of resources, mild weather, and short gales.

You’re able to have more freedom designing your town in Serenity, while Endurance will test you. In Endurance, you will get randomized events. 11-Bit Studios stated:

There are four different starting maps to choose from, and you’re able to fully customize anything you want about the map. There are no time limits, so you’re able to play for as long as you desire. All building upgrades are unlocked, so you are free to explore many options for your city. A new change the game makes is one to the world around you. The developer wanted to keep Endless mode fresh, so the locations you visit will be randomized over time.

There is also a new mechanic with a building called the “Archives”. To use this, you will need to find a memento out in the wasteland. Once you do, you can build an Archive to retrieve your rewards. The developer even teased that:

The new Frostpunk DLC will be out in a few days, but there is currently not a solid time. Go pick up the game on Steam now!
