Banishers is the new product from Dontnod, the creators of Life is Strange and Vampyr. Are you ready for another blood-sucking, soul-depriving, and emotionally devastating adventure?
The Game Awards ceremony unveiled Banishers, a new game developed by Dontnod, the creators of Life is Strange. The trailer features broody characters sitting at a table in front of each other. Trust me. It is lots of fun!
Dontnod had revealed that it planned to release eight new games over the next few years. In its presentation of its financial results for the first half of the fiscal year, Dontnod confirms five internal and self-published games, one co-published with Focus Entertainment and two external games – from Tolima and Tiny Bull – will be published by the company.
The company made its name with Remember Me in 2013, a Capcom-published adventure that was a commercial failure. In 2015 Life Is Strange became a critical and sales success, spawning prequels and sequels, some developed by Deck Nine.

What do We Know About Banishers?
In tonight’s Game Awards, Banishers was quietly and unprecedently announced. Dontnod promises a “powerful and intimate narrative in which you’ll enter two ghost hunters and lovers, faced with impossible choices and their dramatic consequences for the living… and the dead”
Banishers, with a fantasy and medieval setting, separates a bit from the teen drama that the studio usually goes through to give us a more particular environment. Still, it remains focused on the characters’ emotions and the narrative. It will, of course, be a story-driven game.
We still need more clues about the plot beyond the fact that we can see the two main characters.
Banishers will be released in late 2023. There have yet to be confirmed platforms, but it is believed to be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
