There will also be extra, unlockable content.

One of the most highly anticipated sequels of this console generation, Kingdom Hearts III, will finally be released in January. Until then, Square Enix has been keeping fans’ attention with a series of trailers showing off the game’s various worlds. Now, a new and unique marketing strategy is coming to tug on players’ nostalgic heart strings.

It was recently announced that a VR experience aptly called Kingdom Hearts: VR Experience will be making its way to PS VR this holiday season. The experience will be free to anyone with a PS VR set and will be a 10-minute interactive video featuring some of the series’ iconic music that lets fans relive some of the franchise’s most memorable moments. More specific details, such as what scenes will be shown, what music will be played, and the exact release date, have yet to be revealed. However, it was also stated that as players interact with this VR video, they will somehow be able to unlock extra content.

In other Kingdom Hearts-related news, a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III was recently revealed, which showcased Gummi Ship gameplay, as well as a number of the game’s worlds, including one based on the movie Big Hero 6.
