Initial programming for all fifty characters has concluded.
Earlier this year, Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon revealed that he is working on a Custom Night mode for the latest entry in the series, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, which came out late last year. After coming up with mechanics for and programming the fifty characters that will appear in this ultimate Custom Night mode, it was recently announced that the mode is now in its Beta testing stages.
The progress bar on Cawthon’s official website hit 100% earlier today (May 3), signaling that the initial programming for each of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator‘s Custom Night’s characters is complete. In a recent Steam post, Cawthon states that the mode is now in Beta testing and that he has been keeping track of his progress playtesting the game. He started off on 50/20 mode (all fifty characters were set to level 20, the highest difficulty level) and never made it very far. He never lasted more than thirty seconds in any of his runs, due largely to Nightmarionne and Nightmare BB. However, despite the brutally difficult nature of this 50/20 mode, Cawthon states that each of the characters work they way he had intended them to.
Cawthon then played in 50/1 mode (all fifty characters set to level 1 difficulty) a few times, where he did significantly better, but still didn’t come close to completing the night. In his best run, Cawthon lasted one minute and forty-three seconds. The full Custom Night lasts a total of four minutes and thirty seconds. Cawthon also states that he plans to have his sons playtest the game soon and will post their progress as well.
Originally, Cawthon stated that Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator would get its Custom Night mode on August 8, to coincide with the original Five Nights at Freddy’s anniversary. However, Cawthon is no stranger to releasing games or updates way ahead of schedule, and if this Custom Night’s characters keep behaving in the way Cawthon wants them to, we may see this mode released in June or July.
