Don your finest driving gear because Forza Horizon is back and heading to the breathtaking vistas of Mexico. Forza Horizon 5 releases on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on November 9, announced as part of today’s ongoing E3 festivities.

From arid deserts to oppressively hot jungles, by way of vibrant cities, Mayan ruins, and a snow-capped volcano for good measure, Forza Horizon 5 is a whistle-stop tour of Mexico’s diverse topography and enviable climes. Expect the richly detailed environment we’ve come to expect from the series cranked up to 11 thanks to the power of the Xbox Series consoles.

Developer Playground isn’t messing around, letting us know that it’s gone to considerable lengths to bring to life the minutiae of each needle on the countless cholla cacti peppering the game. Judging by the fact that Horizon 5 is Playground’s ‘largest and most diverse’ world yet, that’s a hell of a lot of needles. As for the skies, Playground duly aimed its HDR camera rig at the Mexican firmament in 24-hour bursts captured in 12K for a photo-realistic result and life-like lighting that dynamically changes every frame.

Crisp, dynamic, and utterly mesmerizing, Forza Horizon 5 is hands down the most gorgeous effort yet from Playground. Don’t just take our word for it; check out the trailer below and remember to bump it up to 4K for the full experience.

Single and Multiplayer Modes in Forza Horizon 5

As with past entries, Forza Horizon 5 boasts an extensive campaign packed with challenges, activities, and colorful characters. And, of course, a highly replayable multiplayer component. It’s full of zany challenges, mini-games, tours, and opens to test your driving chops against other players. Finally, the game has what Playground has dubbed the Events Lab. A toolset that allows players to create their own Forza experiences. Rules, decors, props – every aspect is in the player’s hands.
