The Dragon Rune Lance is a Harvest Tool that was added with the new season 3 of Fortnite Chapter 3, and it joins the Battle Royale’s long and ever-growing list of cool-looking skins and weapons for players to unlock and showoff in-game. Recently, however, some players that had the Tool unlocked might have noticed that it had been disabled and unable to be used. Players have been asking why, so let’s dive into why the weapon was removed (for now). This guide will explain why the Dragon Rune Lance Harvest Weapon was disabled in Fortnite.

Why Was The Dragon Rune Lance Disabled In Fortnite?

The Dragon Rune Lance Harvest Tool was disabled on June 13th because there was a bug related to the Tool that gave players using it a distinct advantage. It was discovered that players who wielded the weapon did not make footstep sounds when they would move, allowing them to traverse the map in complete silence. This made them a threat on the battlefield as they could easily get the drop on opponents without the distinct audio cues, making it quite the annoyance to be on the receiving end of an attack that was impossible to see coming.

Fortnite: Where to Find the Grapple Glove

Since the Dragon Rune Lance Harvesting Tool is part of the Battle Pass, it can only be assumed that the weapon will eventually make its way back to the Battle Royale title though word on when this will has not yet been announced. When it does eventually return, hopefully, those annoying stealth attacks become a thing of the past.
