The Bushy Bulb is a Backbling cosmetic that was added with the new season 3 of Fortnite Chapter 3, and it joins the Battle Royale’s long and ever-growing list of cool-looking skins and items for players to unlock and showoff in-game. Recently, however, some players that had the Backbling unlocked might have noticed that it had been disabled and unable to be equipped. This is similar to the recent removal of the Dragon Rune Lance, a Harvest Tool caused by the fact that the item allowed players to not make footstep sounds when they would move. Players have been asking why, so let’s dive into why the weapon was removed (for now). This guide will explain why the Bushy Bulb Backbling was disabled in Fortnite.

Why Is The Bushy Bulb Backbling Disabled In Fortnite

On June 27th, the Bushy Bulb Backbling was disabled from Fortnite, so players who had completed the quest for The Scientist will no longer be able to wear the Backbling until it is reintegrated into the game future and currently unknown date. The reason why is that players have been reporting that equipping this item would cause their game to crash. While this has not been happening to every player that equips the Bushy Bulb, it was clearly a big enough issue that Epic Games saw it fit to remove the item until they are able to fix this huge problem.

It makes sense that the item has been removed with a bug as massive as causing crashes too many games. It is currently unknown when the Bushy Bulb Backbling will return to Fortnite. Hopefully, when the item returns, the fear of a game crash due to a cosmetic will be a fear that we can leave behind.

Fortnite is available for PC via Epic Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.
