The newest update in Fortnite introduced a collaboration event with Star Wars! Until May 17, multiple vaulted Star Wars items in Fortnite will be available for use during your matches. One of these items is Lightsabers in various colors, which you use to complete various challenges during the Star Wars event. This guide will teach you where to find Lightsabers in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2.
Where to Find Lightsabers in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2
Lightsabers are found in chests and on the ground as loot. They are a Mythic melee weapon, so they’ll appear with a bright golden glow. While you are not guaranteed to find Lightsabers in your matches, you’ll likely encounter at least one if you play multiple rounds and loot numerous chests. However, since other players will be hunting for Lightsabers and other items during the event, you may need to play several matches before finding one. Unlike the E-11 Blaster, you cannot buy Lightsabers from NPCs.
Lightsabers were added initially during an event in Chapter 2, Season 1. Since then, they have been unvaulted and re-introduced into the game. They deal anywhere from 25 to 150 damage with each hit. There are four different Lightsabers you may encounter during your matches:
- Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber
- Kylo Ren’s Lightsaber
- Mace Windu’s Lightsaber
- Obi-Wan’s Lightsaber
One of the challenges during the Star Wars event in Fortnite is to block hits using your Lightsaber. Hold down either your right mouse button or the LT button on your controller while being attacked to block. If someone shoots at you, use the Lightsaber to block the incoming bullets to progress in the challenge. While you will block most of the damage, you may still take some if you’re attacked with powerful guns like a shotgun.
