Just as it has every time there is a new season, Fortnite has recently added a lot of new content to the Battle Royale island, though with the game not just changing seasons but starting a whole new chapter, these changes are pretty substantial. A number of new items, locations, challenges… I mean they changed the entire map! Along with these substantial changes comes a new item known as the Victory Crown. With the Chapter still being fairly new, players are trying to understand what exactly this crown is. This guide will let players know what the Victory Crown is in Fortnite.

Fortnite: What is a Victory Crown?

Victory Crowns act as a kind of badge that players get for placing high enough in a Fortnite match. If you place within a certain number of players in a match, you will start the next game with the Victory Crown, which will reward you with bonus XP during the game that you are wearing it. Luckily, the item doesn’t take up inventory space, so players who get it won’t find themselves at a disadvantage. For those who come across someone wearing the Victory Crown in your game, killing them will allow players to pick the item up for themselves, receiving the same bonus for that game. Winning with the Crown equipped will reward the player with the “Crowning Achievement” Emote, which will also display the number of matches won with the Victory Crown when using the emote.

Epic Games has also provided the exact placements that players need to achieve to get the brand new item. Below is the breakdown of what placement players need to get in order to get the Victory Crown for each mode in Fortnite.

  • Solo: Top four players.
  • Duos: Players in the top two teams.
  • Trios: Players in the top team.
  • Squads: Players in the top team.
