Fortnite Season 3 begins today, bringing a new update that includes new loot and changes to both the Battle Royale and Save the World modes.  For Battle Royale players on consoles, this update introduces a 60 FPS mode on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, and Xbox One X.

New weapons and items have been added to the loot pool as well.  These include a New Hand Cannon and Pump Shotgun, alongside tweaks and changes to existing weapons and items.   A wide assortment of fixes and additions have been made to the game, including the ability to control your character for 10 seconds after earning a Victory Royale.   You can check out the full patch notes for v.3.0.0 Battle Royale here.  Building has been changed significantly in this version of the game.  Which includes Turbo Building, Auto Material Swapping, and improvements to cycling speed for materials.   You can check out the Building Improvements in v.3.0.0 below:

New Battle Pass Rewards

Battle Pass Rewards have also been updated.  The Battlepass allows players to earn or buy different tiers to unlock different rewards.  With the Season 3 Battle Pass there are 30 more tiers of reward with 100 tiers in total.  The rewards are numerous and include things like outfits, axes, emotes, gliders, bling, Skydiving FX Trails, loading screens, banners, and emotes.  The Season 3 Battle Pass has quite a bit more content than Season 2.  You can check out some of the Battle Pass Season 3 Rewards in the trailer below:

Save The World

Save The World mode might not be as popular as Battle Royale at the moment as it’s still part of the premium “pay to play” aspect of Fortnite, but new content has been added here as well.

This includes a new vehicle called the Hoverboard, which is awarded to players in a tutorial quest and is available after the Stonewood Homebase Storm Shield Defense 5 has been completed.  The Hoverboard allows you to explore the zone at a faster pace than on foot.  Like Battle Royale, the Hand Cannon has also been added to Save the World Mode.

A number of other changes and bug fixes have been made to Save the World which can be found on Epic’s Blog.
