It’s Never Too Late to Save the World…With Some Tips

Fortnite: Save the World is an excellent video game experience of off-the-wall storytelling, tower defense, and world-saving heroism. Reaching the endgame is a challenge that will require patience, mastery, and dedication, however. Even after 100 hours, the fate of the world is unbeknownst to me; therefore, I compiled tips to help not only myself but the fellow Fortnite Commander who might need a hand to fend off the storm. As a continuation from my previous list, this will focus more on the player’s internal actions and potential capabilities for assistance.

1. Traps Are A Soldier’s Best Friend

Aside from fellow comrades and vicious gadgets on the battlefield, a trap can save a soldier’s life. The same easily applies to Save the World when it comes to defending a base.

Hordes of husks storm out of nowhere at times, and it’s a juggling marathon to be in-between one side of the base to the next. With traps, that issue is no more with ceiling, wall, and floor traps being accessible to the player. With the resources you’ve harvested, collected, and killed for, traps are truly a soldier’s trustworthy companion without a pulse. Evidently, you can assemble Defenders to assist you during gameplay, but you have to revive them if they go down.

As with the characters, weapons, and even ingredients (you need bacon for some creations), the traps come in all shapes and unique uses. From musical speakers that force husks to get down and boogie, freeze entrapments that shudder foes within sight, and wall smacks that knock the storm cronies off their feet.

2. Leveling Up the Structures

One major positive aspect that greatly differs Save the World from its battle royale component is the enhancement of structures. With up to three levels of empowerment and defense, upgrading your structures is more essential than what this article entitles itself to. Husks of all kinds will rain hell on your creative home base – traps, defenders, it won’t matter to them. It’s common knowledge to upgrade all ceiling, wall, and floor structures for the ultimate defense. Even when it comes to using wood as the last resort, any structure can be of any defensive assistance.

3. Defensive Decorations

In addition to the previous entry, you can edit out the structures to your own imagination. Stone hills can be built, wooden planks of severe strength can be enhanced, and steel can become stronger than the human bone itself.

One especially vital structure edit is the lower row barrier that can halt enemies to a gigantic stop. When it comes to editing the wall structure, nine panels are presented. Omit the top two rows and leave the bottom one unchecked. This will submit a foot-long barrier that will hold off most of the mindless husks. In extreme circumstances, jumping and panic-building is usually a helpful last-minute action that can be of great dependence. In other words, these husks aren’t intelligent, and a simple foot-long barrier is enough to make them stop for a moment or two.

4. Spend That Money!

When it comes to playing Save the World, the number of rewards can be overwhelming – in a positive way, of course. New schematics, heroes, survivors, perk points, and more are given after successful missions, but gold is almost seemingly presented on a regular basis. During the time of this writing, I have 22,165 gold available to spend. As a Fortnite player, it’s easy to get lost in all the quests and story missions that Ray joins you on, and buying stuff from the store tends to go over the gamer’s head.

The store contains countless interchangeable items that provide all the important war slots the Commander will need: special schematics, armory slots, perk-ups, epic heroes, and many more. That money isn’t going anywhere, so you might as well spend it on valuable resources in lieu of letting it sit in the dust while you die repeatedly to Lara Croft and the Predator in the battle royale mode.

5. “Play With Others”

At certain realizations, advancing through the game’s story (which is quite enjoyable) can be slightly tedious. You’ll need sufficient resources for intense situations, and you’re not always going to have enough backup in your pocket on deck.

Luckily, there’s the option to “Play With Others” that allows the player to drop into an existing lobby to work on continuous progression. It can be from saving a shelter to eliminating husk encampments, but the extra gameplay you put into someone else’s objectives can be advantageous to both you and them. It’s a wonderful win-win and beautiful synergy when the fellow Fortnite game warrior is ready to fight the storm by your side. You can customize the preferred power level to your liking, or you can select a quick play or story progression option to jump into a mission with already existing players in action.
